DVDROM SERVERS AND TOWERS

Our DVDROM Servers are built around Intel's Pentium® CPU and are vigorously tested for performance and durability. Both servers and towers feature 6x drives from Pioneer, though we would consider special requirements for another manufacturer's drives.
There are two main types of enclosures these units are avilable in -- the PC-style and standard 19" rack-mountable.

The basic server configuration consists of:

  • Intel Pentium® 233MHz CPU;
  • 128MB SDRAM;
  • 9GB UDMA HDD;
  • 1.44MB FDD;
  • A number of DVDROM drives;
  • DAT3 tape drive (where used);
  • PCI Fast SCSI interface;
  • PCI 10/100-Base-T NIC
  • 2MB SVGA;
  • Input devices (mouse, keyboard);

Note that advanced processors and multiprocessor architectures are used where necessary (for example, when server is required to perform certain additional tasks), as well as more RAM, hard drive space and any other particular hardware.

Installation and configuration of OS and application software is optional. We offer basic 10-user license WindowsNT, and SmartStor by SmartStorage Inc. Feel free to download an evaluation copy (with documentation) at your leasure. Turn-key systems are delivered with all software installed and configured. On-site training and help with integration issues is also available.

DVDROM Towers do not have number-crunching power by themselves. Instead, they are atached to the host computer via SCSI cable supplied with the unit.

The price schedule lists standard units. RAID, hot swappable versions are available by order only.
